Carly Smith is a graduating senior from Ithaca College studying journalism, dabbling in history. She is the proofreader for Professional Surveyor Magazine, has copy edited for The Ithacan, and has written for Buzzsaw Magazine. Already blogging about video games, her dream is to work for a video game publication with interesting features, profiles, and unbiased reviews. After her introduction to Sonic the Hedgehog on the SEGA Genesis, life has never been the same. She loves games with good stories, developed characters, and beautiful music, and she wants to convey her passion for video games in all that she does. In her free time she likes to make and wear costumes from her favorite games.

kyleMy name is Kyle Robertson, and I am a junior journalism major at Ithaca College in New York. I enjoy writing as well as blogging, interviewing, video and audio editing, and work for organizations on campus including radio stations VIC and WICB and Buzzsaw Magazine. My ultimate professional goal is to be regular host of a news radio program, such as NPR’s Radio Times or Talk of the Nation. Additionally, I am a member of many prestigious groups on campus including the Society of Professional Journalists, the Ithaca College Honors Program, and am currently serving as President for our college’s chapter of communications honor society Lambda Pi Eta. I am taking part in this documentary not only because I am an avid fan of video games and music in general, but because I believe it is important to inform and educate people about video game culture and demonstrate that games are not violent and unsophisticated, but can actually contribute meaningfully to our artistic culture and the community at large.
